ABOUT BIRUTE

Birute Bagdonaite brings a multidimensional perspective and a service-driven approach to the Berlin office, drawing on a career defined by curiosity, adaptability, and a deep appreciation for human experience.

Originally from Vilnius, Lithuania, Birute grew up immersed in classical music and spent her early years training to become a choir and orchestra conductor. Her ambition led her to Berlin, where she continued her musical studies at the renowned Hanns Eisler Academy and worked as an understudy conductor on diverse projects with choirs and orchestras across Germany and Lithuania.

A pivotal moment came when she realized the world extended far beyond the boundaries of the classical music sphere. Guided by a desire to explore life in all its forms, she shifted paths entirely. Her professional journey since has spanned producing ceramics, working in Michelin-starred restaurants and speakeasy bars, supporting dental practices, and contributing to patient services and end-of-life care in an intensive care unit.

One of her strongest influences was Studs Terkel’s book Working, which examines how people find meaning in their roles. The stories reinforced her belief that every environment, every hidden corner, offers something worth seeing, understanding, and learning. That philosophy continues to shape her motivation: to observe, to experience, and to embrace challenges, whether counselling patients at their final moments or navigating the unfamiliar world of venture capital.

Outside the office, Birute channels her energy into sports, cooking and baking ambitious meals, reading, sewing, and writing. Most often, though, she can be found at home enjoying quiet moments with her dog, Teddy.
