Christoph Jung co-founded HV in 2000 and helped build it into one of Europe's enduring venture platforms across nine fund generations. He grew up in the Rhineland in a family that has been entrepreneurial for more than a hundred years, studied Business Administration in Bayreuth with honours, then cut his teeth at Deutsche Bank and Gemini Consulting before deciding to apply everything he'd learned in a field that barely existed: European venture capital. At the time, he thought digital would only disrupt media. He was very wrong, and that lesson has kept him curious ever since.

He backed DaWanda, MyHammer, and MeinAuto from seed to exit, played a leading role in setting up Ottonova, Germany's first purely digital health insurance company, and was closely involved with Flix from its earliest days. Today, he sits on the supervisory boards of Serviceplan and Flix's holding company. At the start of Fund IX, Christoph transitioned into an advisory role as Founding Partner, ensuring HV's institutional knowledge carries forward into its next chapter.
