ABOUT LAURA
Laura was born in the US, grew up in Germany and moved to Switzerland as a teenager. She studied in Hamburg, London and Paris, obtained her PhD in Finance at the University of St. Gallen and conducted research at Columbia University, New York. Her global experience ensures that Laura always brings a broad perspective to her work in VC.
After a stint in the VC world at Headline, Laura worked at J.P. Morgan on various corporate finance transactions – mostly across TMT and consumer industries, including IPOs, financings, buy- and sell-side mandates. Taking a more entrepreneurial approach, Laura co-founded WeSpace, the first work and community space designed for female professionals in the DACH region, for which she earned Forbes "30 Under 30" recognition.
At HV, Laura is part of the venture team where she seeks out promising startups across industries with a particular focus on healthcare and techbio. In venture capital, Laura states money is not the differentiating factor, but rather the people who are behind the money. Partnering with seasoned investors is key - particularly when developing large, sustainable companies.
