McGuinness

An associate with deep experience across the industrial technology and life science tools markets, Jack brings sharp analytical skills and an international perspective to the HV Capital investment team through his US & European expertise in buyout transactions.

Jack's finance journey began at University College Cork with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, followed by an MSc in Finance from UCD Michael Smurfit Business School in Dublin, where he served as class ambassador.

Most recently at Battery Ventures, Jack focused on buyout and growth-equity transactions in the industrial technology and life science tools markets, managing investments in steute Technologies, Skalar, and Goodfellow. Prior to this, he worked as an investment analyst at Cambridge Associates in Boston on the co-investment team, specializing in deal-sourcing and due diligence for private equity co-investments and direct transactions. His experience also includes internships at Atlantic Bridge in Dublin, a global growth equity firm investing in deep technology companies, and UBS Private Wealth Management in Boston.

At university, Jack combined his love of music, entrepreneurship, and bringing people together through DJing and organising festivals. Today, he has an active lifestyle with endurance sports at its core; you’ll always find a marathon on his calendar. He is also active on the course, the slopes and the sea. He has less time for golf than he’d like, and he recently shifted from snowboarding to skiing after picking up one too many board-related injuries; he maintains a love of sailing and boating, which he developed from a young age in the US.
