Lars Langusch has been building companies for 25 years, three of his own and hundreds alongside founders. He co-founded HV in 2000, grew up near Hamburg, studied Business Administration in Saarbrücken in record time, wrote a PhD on the Social Construction of Trust, then lived in Hong Kong and Barcelona before landing in venture capital. He didn't just invest. During his first years at HV, he co-founded Parship, today one of the world's leading matchmaking platforms. He went on to co-found Audible Germany, later acquired by Amazon, and Experteer, acquired by Medien Union.
His portfolio since spans Care.com (NYSE listed), Wooga (acquired by Playtika), Depop (acquired by Etsy), Thermondo, DELLI, and Global Savings Group. After several hundred transactions and 25 years in the industry, Lars transitioned into an advisory role as Founding Partner at HV at the start of Fund IX, ensuring HV's institutional knowledge carries forward into its next chapter. Off the clock: new music, the garden, and karate.
