ABOUT ROBERT
After learning German throughout school and university, Robert had a strong desire to move to Munich from Ireland, feeling both countries valued family, health and happiness.
He started his career in Dublin as an auditor for Deloitte, followed by a role specializing in finance and accounting with Smurfit Kappa. Upon moving to Munich in 2014 he moved into the world of start-ups, the first with a focus on the e-mobility industry, and the second on B2B bicycle services. Both were acquired by other companies, which opened up the opportunity to join HV.
Working in a start-up was one of the most challenging environments of Robert's career to date. With experience in this environment, Robert can relate to, and respect the tasks young companies undertake. Despite the challenge, he enjoyed his time working in start-ups and would encourage anyone to explore this option, either as a founder or as an employee.
In his spare time Robert is a keen road bike enthusiast. Living so close to the Alps is very special. He also supports his local rugby club, where he helps to train kids and adults and sells cakes during games.
RUNNING A COMPANY FROM THE START-UP PHASE TAKES COURAGE AND ENERGY. BUILDING A COMPANY UP, SO THAT IT IS ATTRACTIVE FOR INVESTORS, IS A HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT.
AFTER ALL THIS EFFORT AND COMMITMENT, CHOOSING THE RIGHT INVESTOR CAN STILL BE A MAKE OR BREAK DECISION.
