Raised by teachers of business administration and law in a small village in the district of Cham, Sebastian’s profound interest in the world of economics and finance emerged in early childhood and remained with him throughout adolescence. After high school, he pursued training as a bank clerk, followed by a bachelor's degree in business administration at the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg, with a focus on Controlling & Accounting. He also voluntarily completed an additional focus on Finance.

Following his studies, Sebastian joined KPMG in the Audit Financial Services division, driven by an added interest in regulatory aspects and valuation methodologies. After gaining extensive experience in auditing alternative investment fund managers, banks, and leasing companies, he decided to specialize in alternative investments, coupled with a shift in perspective—from auditing to the implementation and development of regulatory issues.

This led him to RWB PrivateCapital Emissionshaus AG, an alternative investment fund manager specializing in private equity fund-of-funds investing globally. There, he took on responsibilities across operations, regulatory compliance, controlling, and finance.

To further broaden his expertise in asset classes and enhance his professional skills, Sebastian joined mondial kapitalverwaltungsgesellschaft mbH, an alternative investment fund manager specializing in real estate funds for institutional investors, after several years in the field. Starting as Head of Fund Accounting, he managed responsibilities including share value calculation, annual financial statements for funds, investor and regulatory reporting, performance monitoring, and liquidity management. He quickly advanced to become an Authorized Representative (“Prokurist”) of the company.

With extensive regulatory and financial management expertise, Sebastian brought his deep knowledge to HV Capital, where, with his new team, he is responsible for all topics concerning compliance, risk, and operations. 

A true numbers enthusiast, Sebastian’s professional background sparked a personal passion for numismatics (or coin collecting, for the rest of us). In his free time, he enjoys traveling, cooking, visiting his favorite cafés and restaurants, and discovering new ones.
